ALEX CACERES VS SEAN WOODSON LOWDOWN

Alex Caceres (21-14(1)) continues to bounce off his ceiling looking great until he faces the upper echelon. He flattened Julian Erosa (2022) with an absolutely majestic head kick and then came out on top in a ‘Fight of the Night’ decision with Daniel Pineda (2023). However, he went on to fight Giga Chikadze (2023) losing a unanimous decision to dent his UFC tally to 16-12(1).

Sean Woodson (11-1-1) also crossed paths with Erosa which was back in 2020. It did not go as well suffering the upset and his first loss after getting caught in a D’Arce choke. However, he has gone unbeaten since adding Youssef Zalal (2021), Collin Anglin (2021), Dennis Buzukja (2023) and Charles Jourdain (2024) to the win column.

ALEX CACERES VS SEAN WOODSON PREDICTION

This should be a very fun scrap between two lanky technical strikers. Caceres rarely gives up much range at featherweight but he will be giving up five inches in reach and four in height here.

Woodson is super long and uses his length well so the exchanges will be fascinating as Caceres is also dangerous from range. Expect to see a lot of kicks from Caceres but if Woodson begins to find a home for his hands, expect to see him clinch up.

Caceres is the better grappler, but Woodson will be primed and ready throw in the pocket. He is the better boxer and should be able to win the majority of exchanges.

They are both durable with good defence so a decision is likely with Woodson’s volume and damage making the difference. This will be close so back the underdog.

Prediction: Woodson via Decision

Value bet: Caceres via Decision
