LUCIE PUDILOVA VS AILIN PEREZ LOWDOWN
Lucie Pudilova (14-8) still has a lot of work to do to prove she is UFC calibre. She went 2-5 in her first stint between 2017 and 2020. She returned last year with one of her best performances to date TKOing Yanan Wu in the second round at UFC 278. However, she fell back in the loss column eight months later losing a split decision to Joselyne Edwards (2023).
The same can be said for Ailin Perez (8-2) who received a slap of reality on her UFC debut. Or more of a choke getting submitted by Stephanie Egger (2022) at UFC Fight Night 209 in Paris. She made up for the loss earlier this year with a solid unanimous decision over veteran Ashlee Evans-Smith and is now desperate to build on the dub.
LUCIE PUDILOVA VS AILIN PEREZ PREDICTION
Pudilova’s decision against Edwards could have easily gone her way, but she still needs a big performance here to extend her shelf life. Expect her to go about business as usual attempting to keep the fight on the feet, circling and striking from range.
She will need to be working on her takedown defence as Perez will try and close the distance as soon as possible and drag her to the mat. Considering her power and Pudilova’s mediocre takedown defence, we expect Perez to get the fight where she wants it and begin to rain down the ground and pound.
The Czech native is very durable so it will require a flawless performance from Perez to get the finish, but it is certainly worth a punt.
Prediction: Perez via Decision
Value bet: Perez via KO/TKO
