Lorenzo Musetti vs Flavio Cobolli prediction
Lorenzo Musetti continued his upturn in form with a straight sets win over David Goffin in round two. Musetti was pegged back in the first set and went a break down in the third, but he was potent when it came to taking his break point opportunities, as he broke the Belgian’s serve on eight occasions to win 6-4 6-0 6-2 after two hours and three minutes.
He takes on a fellow Italian in Flavio Cobolli in the third-round. Cobolli got through his second five-set match in a row as he beat Jenson Brooksby in a thriller. The world number 26 was broken when serving for the match at 5-4 but showed great resolve to dominate the final set tiebreak and win 5-7 6-3 6-4 2-6 7-6. Despite the victory, Cobolli will need to improve his serving performance going forward as his first serve percentage totalled just 54% and he conceded a total of 22 break points.
Those two long matches may have taken a lot out of Cobolli, who has not been at his best despite the two wins. Musetti is putting in better performances and we like his chances here.
