Lazio Preview: Much-needed win
Lazio come into this one on the back of a much-needed and impressive 2-0 defeat of a tight Genoa side at the Luigi Ferraris last weekend courtesy of goals from Valentin Castellanos and Boulaye Dia after Sebastian Otoa had been sent off for the hosts in midweek.
That victory has reignited Marco Baroni’s side’s push for a top four finish and potential UEFA Champions League qualification after a poor run of form that also included a penalty shootout defeat to Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt in the group stages of the UEFA Europa League.
Parma Preview: Parma on the push
Following the departure of Fabio Pecchia, who led Parma to promotion back to the top-flight last season, former Parma and Internazionale defender Cristian Chivu has been appointed and has helped the visitors push away from the bottom three and the relegation places.
After a run of four successive draws, Parma managed to defeat a frustratingly average Juventus side by a goal to nil at the Ennio Tardini the other day courtesy of a Mateo Pellegrino winning goal scored in first-half stoppage-time.
Lazio Team News: Belahyane suspended
In that aforementioned clash with Genoa in which Otoa was sent off, Lazio’s winter transfer window signing Reda Belahyane was also sent off and he is now missing through suspension for the hosts’ visit of in-form Parma this weekend.

Lazio vs Parma Prediction
Lazio’s victory against Genoa last weekend was just their second victory in their last nine matches across all competitions. They have remained underwhelming throughout this calendar year after a bright start to Baroni’s tenure. They now face a Parma side that will seek to put their foot down against a frail side and try and really accelerate away from the bottom three so it could be quite entertaining for the neutral this weekend.
