France begin preparations for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil next summer with a clash against Latvia in an international friendly this weekend.

France come into this one on the back of topping a tough UEFA Women’s Nations League League A group alongside the Netherlands, Poland and the Republic of Ireland by winning four and drawing one of their six matches in 2026.

Latvia, on the other hand, succumbed to League B relegation instead as they suffered six successive defeats in which they scored just four goals and conceded 17 in the process.

This one isn’t the most competitive of games for the French to build towards next summer but it should give them a comfortable and heavy victory on Saturday.
