Genoa preview: Struggling Genoa
Genoa have opted to stick by Daniele De Rossi ahead of the return to action after the former Roma boss led them to survival last season but the Genovese have underwhelmed at the start of this season.
The hosts have collected just one point from their opening five matches in Serie A. Genoa most recently succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to Parma a few weeks ago with an 80th minute Pontus Almqvist winner at the Ennio Tardini.
Fiorentina preview: Big spending Fiorentina
Over the summer, Fiorentina spent heavily and gave Fabio Grosso an improved squad after they were involved in a relegation battle in Serie A but a slow start saw the departure of Grosso with returning manager Paolo Vanoli.
I Viola showed improvement under Vanoli with victories against Venezia and then Pisa in league and cup before sharing a 1-1 draw against a stuttering Napoli side at Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Genoa team news: A few issues
Genoa have some fresh injury concerns for this one as both Franz-Ethan Meichtry and Lorenzo Colombo are now sidelined alongside fellow forward Lorenzo Venturino.
Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Bijlow; Marcandalli, Ostigard, Otoa; Ehizibue, Frendrup, Sow, Ellertsson; Junior Messias, Baldanzi; Osmajic

Questionable: Havel (Fitness)
Fiorentina team news: Njie a doubt
Summer signing out-wide Alieu Njie is now a doubt for Fiorentina this weekend after a thigh injury in the break, with midfielder Fabiano Parisi is sidelined due to a knee issue.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): David de Gea; Alex Jimenez, Dragusin, Ranieri, Viery; Ndour, Fagioli, Atta; Mastantuono, Mateo Pellegrino, Gnonto
Unavailable: Parisi (Injured)

Genoa vs Fiorentina prediction
Fiorentina started the Serie A season with three successive victories but they have shown improvement. I Viola have built a squad, expensively assembled, that should be pushing for the top seven or eight and the European spots. Genoa do appear to be in a bit of a state and not much has changed so a Fiorentina victory again seems the way to go for this one on Saturday.
Genoa vs Fiorentina tip: Fiorentina to win
