With only four league stage matches for each team, the importance of getting off to a winning start cannot be understated here for both Lahore Qalandars and Perth Scorchers. Both teams have taken strong squads with them to Guyana, particularly Perth Scorchers. Captain Ashton Turner along with Aaron Hardie, Ashton Agar and Jhye Richardson are all expected to feature for the reigning BBL champions.
It's a largely homegrown squad for Lahore Qalandars but they will be without their pace bowling stars of Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf. They are big losses and will significantly weaken this Qalandars side, who are also missing Fakhar Zaman at the top of the order. With that in mind, Perth Scorchers have to be backed.
