Jiri Lehecka advanced to round three after coming from a set down to beat Tomas Martin Etcheverry. The Argentine started the stronger of the two players but Lehecka began to find his groove after set one, winning 3-6 6-0 6-2 6-4. Lehecka struggled with his serve early on, however he found his range and ended with a first serve percentage that was just under 70%. He already has a title on the surface this season and will be eyeing up a round-of-16 place here for the first time in his career.
He will now go up against Raphael Collignon who sprung one of the biggest shocks of the previous round as he came from two sets to one down to dump 2022 champion Casper Ruud out of the tournament. Ruud broke early in the decider to go 2-0 up but he was out of sorts for the most part, with Collignon holding his nerve for the finest victory of his career. He won 6-4 3-6 4-6 6-4 7-5.
Despite a monumental win in round two, Collignon is unlikely to repeat the same heroics against Lehecka, who possesses a more powerful all-round game.
