He now has 11 victories in a row, with his last defeat coming at Wimbledon in the first-round two months ago.
Sinner leads the head-to-head 4-2 and 2-0 on outdoor hard court. Their last match on the surface was in 2021, with the Italian winning in Miami. Bublik has claimed victory in two of the last three meetings, including their most recent match in Halle on his way to winning the tournament.
Sinner was tested against Shapovalov, and this will be an even bigger one against Bublik, who boasts one of the strongest serves on tour and is in brilliant form. Sinner’s all-round game should give him the edge, but he will need to be consistent and efficient from the off.
