- Dean Burmester is a big hitter but is more than capable with the putter too and it will be his efforts with the latter that will prove to be pivotal to his chances of competing in Dubai.
- He finished third in the 2020 edition of the Desert Classic, has produced some strong performances in the DP World Tour Championship amongst some very good fields and finished last season on a high so he looks well-placed for a tilt at the title.

- Nicolai Hojgaard faces some illustrious opponents in this event and will need to bounce back from a disappointing finish in last week’s event having missed the cut at Yas Links.
- After a good showing in Thursday’s opening round but he failed to deal with the wind in Abu Dhabi and he will be looking to right the wrongs of that display in conditions which are unlikely to be anywhere near as difficult to deal with.
