Gibraltar come into this one on the back of losing 2-0 on aggregate to Latvia in the UEFA Nations League League C/D promotion/relegation playoff places. That means that they have now succumbed to 12 successive defeats, winless since beating San Marino in October 2024.
The British Virgin Islands are CONCACAF minnows by comparison and, under the management of David Perez, they are among the very weakest teams in international football, ranked 208th in the world by FIFA.
