Having scored the equalising goal in Saudi Arabia’s famous opening-game victory against eventual world champions Argentina at FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, Saleh Al Shehri will remain a crucial figure in the final third for the Saudis this summer. The versatile 32-year-old attacker has played for three of Saudi Arabia’s so-called ‘big four’ having played for Al Ahli and Al Hilal before his move to Al Ittihad in the summer of 2024. He played a role in their 2024-25 Saudi Pro League triumph and again remained key for the Jeddah-based giants this summer.
