There is a good chance that Graham Potter views Newcastle United winger Anthony Elanga as an impact sub and that may suit the former Manchester United man. Following his big money move from Nottingham Forest to Newcastle last summer, Elanga has struggled for consistency but, as was the case at Forest, his best performances, notably a brace away at Camp Nou against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League, came with the overall game plan being about counter-attacking football – and that is something that Potter has used to get Sweden to FIFA World Cup 2026 and so Elanga may well thrive in North America this summer.
