Following the appointment of Sabri Lamouchi, Tunisia experienced something of a cull of many of their old guard with plenty of experienced players excluded from their FIFA World Cup 2026 squad. One man that survived, though, and will remain key for the Tunisians is full-back Ali Abdi. The 32-year-old left-back is appearing at his second FIFA World Cup for The Eagles of Carthage. He has spent the last couple of seasons playing his football in Ligue 1 with Nice and he will provide much-needed pedigree to a back-line that is expected to be tested this summer.
