Freiburg Preview: Steady Freiburg

Julian Schuster replaced Christian Streich over the summer and they have begun to over achieve and punch above their weight once again as they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting tucked inside the top seven and the UEFA competition qualification places.

The home team come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with Hoffenheim last weekend at the Rhein-Necker Arena. They have been underwhelming in recent times, though, with just one victory in their last six matches across all competitions.

Wolfsburg Preview: Entertaining Wolfsburg

With former Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl at the hem, Wolfsburg had been relatively underwhelming in the opening months of the campaign but they have propelled themselves forward to now sit just outside of the top four and the UEFA Champions League spots.

The Lower Saxony-based club come into this one on the back of six successive wins across all competitions with four in the Bundesliga and two in the DFB-Pokal. Their most recent outing saw them pull of a last-gasp 4-3 win against Mainz when they had been 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2 down.

Freiburg vs Wolfsburg Prediction

Freiburg have been steady and there haven’t even been that many defeats in that run of form where they have managed just one victory in the last month or so. They will want to get a few results to head into the winter break still in the European spots but their opponents will believe they can even squeeze into the top four before they head into the break and Hasenhuttl’s side are now on a good run with a double chance bet appearing to be good value for this one.

Freiburg vs Wolfsburg Tip: Double chance – Wolfsburg to win or draw
