Only one of the five fastest goals in UEFA Champions League history happened in the knockout stage and it was indeed the fastest when Roy Makaay notched for Bayern against Real Madrid. Bayern Munich went on to win the two-legged last 16 tie before being knocked out by eventual winners AC Milan in the quarter-final.
