THE LOWDOWN
MALLORCA
It had been a really impressive few weeks for Real Mallorca as Javier Aguirre’s side discovered some form and effectiveness to edge past Real Sociedad with a penalty shootout victory in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey and also earn two victories and a draw in four La Liga matches with one of those wins coming against title-challenging Girona.
However, the Balearic Islanders now come into this one on the back of a slender defeat. It was another impressive and improved, defensively resilient performance in Catalonia but they eventually suffered a 1-0 loss to Barcelona with the Blaugrana reliant on 16-year-old Lamine Yamal, who scored a 73rd minute winning goal.
GRANADA
It has been a generally miserable campaign for Granada as firstly Paco Lopez but now Alexander Medina struggle to get any sort of tune out of the players as they languish in the bottom three and the relegation places, beginning this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting ten points adrift of safety with 11 games of the campaign to go.
They did show some fight last week but eventually suffered a defeat due to a late Real Sociedad turnaround in Andalusia. Albanian international Myrto Uzuni scored a first-half brace either side of a goal from Umar Sadiq to give Granada a 2-1 lead until the 80th minute before goals from Robin Le Normand and Andre Silva gave La Real the win.

THE PREDICTION
No matter what happens in this one in terms of the end match result, it is not expected to be a thriller for the neutral. Mallorca have been difficult to play against and that will continue to be the case in Palma de Mallorca, especially for a Granada team that have managed just two victories all season. The likelier of the two teams to get a victory is indeed Javier Aguirre’s men, especially at home, but it will likely be a laborious watch for the neutral.
TIP: REAL MALLORCA TO WIN & UNDER 3.5 GOALS
