In the calendar year of 2023, Atletico Madrid have been the best side in La Liga as they close in on confirming a top four finish and potential UEFA Champions League qualification. They are also aiming to finish above their city rivals, Real Madrid, for the fifth time in nine seasons.

Osasuna
After losing to Real Madrid in the final of the Copa del Rey in Seville a couple of weeks ago, Osasuna returned to La Liga action in impressive and emphatic fashion as they defeated comfortably defeated relegation threatened Almeria by three goals to one, last weekend.
The visitors had suffered three successive defeats in all competitions before that aforementioned defeat of Almeria. They had been level at half-time in that game but goals from Ante Budimir, Abde Ez and Moi Gomez gave Osasuna a 3-0 lead before Lazaro got a consolation for the Andalusians in second-half stoppage-time.
The Pamplona club begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting ninth in the table but level on points with Athletic in eighth. They are a point behind Girona in seventh and the UEFA Europa Conference League qualification spot.
THE PREDICTION
Both of these sides head into the final four games of the 2022/23 La Liga season with something to play for and both teams come into this on the back of victories. Atletico Madrid had enjoyed three successive wins before their surprise loss last weekend and they are in a good position to finish above Real Madrid. Osasuna are proactive as a side and capable of scoring against any opposition, as they showed in the Copa del Rey final. Whilst Atletico are the favourites for this one, especially with their home advantage, it could be quite an entertaining encounter.
