Premier League Manager of the Month Nominations Are In...

The Premier League have confirmed that Mikel Arteta, Unai Emery, Jurgen Klopp and Ange Postecoglu have been nominated for the Premier League’s Manager of the Month award for October.

So far this season, Tottenham boss Postecoglu has won both the August and September awards with Spurs sitting at the top-of-the-table as one of just two teams that remain unbeaten after ten matches.

Postecoglu led Spurs to another impressive month as they defeated Luton Town by two goals to nil before two London derby victories in the same week; firstly at home to Fulham and then at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace.

Mikel Arteta led Arsenal to a victory over defending champions Manchester City before sharing a draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and then thrashing Sheffield United by five goals to nil. He was also managing The Gunners in Europe as they were beaten by Lens but defeated Sevilla in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League.

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa hammered Luton Town by three goals to one to make it ten successive Premier League victories at Villa Park. Prior to that defeat of The Hatters, Villa also hammered West Ham by four goals to one and shared a 1-1 draw with Wolves, alongside victories against Zrinjski Mostar and AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

As for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp, they recovered from their controversial defeat at Tottenham Hotspur in late-September by managing a 2-2 draw with Brighton in the Premier League before back-to-back to nil victories, firstly in the Merseyside derby against Everton and then against Nottingham Forest. They also enjoyed two victories in European competition in the UEFA Europa League.

Spurs currently lead the way at the top-of-the-table, whilst Arsenal sit two points behind. Liverpool are in fourth place, with Aston Villa a point further back in fifth.
