THE LOWDOWN

TORINO

Torino have been upwardly mobile in Serie A this season but have been low-scoring throughout the campaign, despite the fact they begin this weekend sitting tucked inside the top-half and in contention for a top eight finish and potential European qualification. They are currently four points off the top eight and the UEFA Europa Conference League spots.

However, in their 34 matches so far this season, they have only managed to score 31 times. Former Hellas Verona boss Ivan Juric has still somehow cultivated an easy on the eye style of football, even though only two sides, Empoli and Salernitana, have scored fewer than the Piedmont-based club this season.

BOLOGNA

It has been a magnificent campaign for Bologna as they look set to secure UEFA Champions League qualification this season. Italy is expected to have one of the two extra spots in the competition next season and Bologna are tucked comfortably inside the top four with a six-point lead over sixth placed Atalanta.

The visitors come into this one on the back of a frustrating 1-1 draw at home to struggling Udinese in their most recent outing, last weekend, with Martin Payero scoring for Udinese before Alexis Saelemaekers equalised in the 78th minute. That draw, albeit a nuisance for Thiago Motta, does now mean they are unbeaten in their last six matches.

THE TEAM NEWS

TORINO

Adrien Tameze is missing through suspension for this weekend, whilst the likes of Koffi Djidji, Gvidas Gineitis and Saba Sazonov remain out injured.

BOLOGNA

Adama Soumaoro and Jens Odgaard remain unavailable for Bologna this weekend due to injury alongside Scotland international Lewis Ferguson, whilst Sam Beukema is out suspended.

PREDICTED XI (4-1-4-1): Skorupski; Posch, Lucumi, Calafiori, Kristiansen; Freuler; Ndoye, El Azzouzi, Aebischer, Saelemaekers; Zirkzee

UNAVAILABLE: Beukema (Suspended), Ferguson (Injured), Odgaard (Injured), Soumaoro (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Both of these sides could find themselves in European competition next season and yet there is a possibility of them endure a difficult last few months. Torino have failed to score in each of their last three matches and a really low-scoring outfit. Bologna could well fade out with top five all but secured, Thiago Motta heavily linked with Bologna and Lewis Ferguson out injured with Joshua Zirkzee also linked with a move away. It is therefore unlikely to be a thriller for the neutral.

TIP: UNDER 3.5 GOALS
