TORINO PREVIEW: FINISHING WITH A FLOURISH

It has been announced that Ivan Juric will depart Torino at the end of this season but his Piedmont-based club managed to overcome his former side in their most recent outing at the Bentegodi last weekend. Hellas Verona opened the scoring in the 67th minute via Karol Swiderski before substitutes Zanos Savva and Pietro Pellegri turned the game on its head for Torino.

They head into the final couple of weeks of this season having just been knocked out of contention for a top eight finish and potential UEFA Europa Conference League qualification. However, they have done so in spite of being one of the dullest teams to watch in Serie A with only Lecce, Empoli and Salernitana having scored fewer than them this season.

AC MILAN PREVIEW: THE FINAL WEEKS OF PIOLI

It is now seemingly clear that Stefano Pioli will depart San Siro at the end of this season after an underwhelming challenge for the title, whereby they begin the penultimate weekend of the season sitting 18 points behind city rivals Internazionale at the top-of-the-table, and also suffering quite badly in both the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.

The Rossoneri were also finishing the Serie A campaign with a bit of a whimper, though, but they do come into this one on the back of an impressive hammering of relegation-threatened Cagliari last weekend. Their 5-1 defeat of the Sardinians with goals from Ismael Bennacer, Tijjani Reijnders and Rafael Leao as well as a brace from Christian Pulisic ended a six-match winless run of form.

TORINO TEAM NEWS: VLASIC IN A RACE AGAINST TIME

Former West Ham United attacking midfielder Nikola Vlasic is missing with a groin injury for Torino this weekend and he is in a race to get fit for Croatia’s UEFA EURO 2024 campaign. Both Koffi Djidji and Gvdias Gineitis remain unavailable for the hosts.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-1-2): Milinkovic-Savic; Vojvoda, Lovato, Masina; Bellanova, Tameze, Ilic, Ricardo Rodriguez; Ricci; Tonny Sanabria, Duvan Zapata

UNAVAILABLE: Djidji (Injured), Gineitis (Injured), Vlasic (Injured)

TORINO VS AC MILAN PREDICTION

For much of this campaign, Torino have been challenging for the extended European spots in Serie A but their poor form through the spring has finally put an end to that with Ivan Juric departing. They intend to play an ‘easy on the eye’ style of football but have been generally underwhelming. AC Milan have some protests going on off the pitch but did finally show some real improvement on it last weekend and they are the firm favourites for this one.
