THE LOWDOWN
NAPOLI
Reigning champions Napoli lost their key defender, Kim Min-jae, as well as manager Luciano Spalletti over the summer, after winning their third ever Serie A title and just first Scudetto outside of the Diego Maradona era. The Neapolitans, in need of an immediate evolution, have endured a fairly difficult start to the campaign.
They began with a win against Frosinone on the opening day of the season but then managed just one win in their next four matches. They did manage two victories in the last week and a half or so against two struggling sides in Udinese and Lecce, who are lay down towards the very bottom end of the table.
FIORENTINA
After reaching the UEFA Europa Conference League final and losing to West Ham United, as well as reaching the Coppa Italia final and losing to Internazionale last season, Fiorentina will be hoping to build upon what was a disappointing end but, generally, very strong season last year as they push, potentially, towards the top four spots in Serie A.
I Viola come into this on the back of a rescued point at home to Hungarian champions Ferencvaros in the UEFA Europa Conference League group stages in midweek, drawing 2-2. The visitors have suffered just one defeat in 11 matches across all competitions so far this season with 25 goals coming in their seven Serie A matches so far this season.
THE TEAM NEWS
NAPOLI
Luciano Spalletti’s Napoli will be without defensive duo Amir Rrahmani and Juan Jesus with Pierluigi Gollini are a doubt for this weekend’s clash against Fiorentina.
PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Meret; Di Lorenzo, Ostigard, Natan, Olivera; Anguissa, Lobotka, Zielinski; Lindstrom, Osimhen, Kvaratskhelia
UNAVAILABLE: Juan Jesus (Injured), Rrahmani (Injured)
QUESTIONABLE: Gollini (Injured)
FIORENTINA
Fiorentina, like Napoli, also have a couple of injury issues for this one with Dodo and Yerry Mina joining Gaetano Castrovilli on the sidelines.
PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Terracciano; Kayode, Milenkovic, Martinez Quarta, Parisi; Arthur, Duncan; Gonzalez, Bonaventura, Brekalo; Beltran
UNAVAILABLE: Dodo (Injured), Pierozzi (Injured), Mina (Injured), Castrovilli (Injured)

THE PREDICTION
Despite being defending champions and coming into this on the back of scoring ten goals in three matches, Napoli do appear a little vulnerable. The hosts sit above their visitors on goal difference this season and have been rescued a bit with victories against two sides expected to be battling against relegation throughout the campaign. Fiorentina may be a little tired after their game against Ferencvaros but they will head to Naples confident of hurting their opposition and a high-scoring match could ensue.
