THE LOWDOWN

LAZIO

Former Olympique de Marseille and Hellas Verona boss Igor Tudor has recently replaced Maurizio Sarri in the Lazio dugout as they aim to finish the season with a flourish in both Serie A and the Coppa Italia. They begin the weekend sitting just outside of the top seven after some really inconsistent form of late.

They began the Tudor reign with a slender 1-0 defeat of Juventus at Stadio Olimpico with a late Adam Marusic winning goal after the March international break but that was followed up by losing 2-0 to the Old Lady in the first-leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final tie. Then they suffered a 1-0 defeat in the Derby della Capitale against Roma last weekend.

SALERNITANA

It has been a miserable campaign for Salernitana throughout the campaign with the bottom-of-the-table side already onto their fourth manager of the campaign. Stefano Colantuono is in charge of the Garnets after the previous sackings of Paulo Sousa and then AC Milan legend Filippo Inzaghi before the departure of Fabio Liverani after a short stint.

Salernitana come into this one on the back of an entertaining 2-2 draw with Sassuolo in their most recent outing, last weekend, at Stadio Arechi. Sassuolo were leading the game by two goals to nil at half-time after goals from Armand Lauriente and then Nedim Bajrami before Antonio Candreva and Giulio Maggiore brought Salernitana back into the game.

THE TEAM NEWS

LAZIO

Alessio Romagnoli is among those unavailable and sidelined through injury alongside the likes of Ivan Provedel, Mattia Zaccagni and Ciro Immobile.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-2-1): Mandas; Casale, Patric, Gila; Marusic, Guendouzi, Vecino, Anderson; Isaksen, Kamada; Castellanos

UNAVAILABLE: Romagnoli (Injured), Immobile (Injured), Zaccagni (Injured), Provedel (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE:

SALERNITANA

Both Norbert Gyomber and Federico Fazio are doubtful for this weekend, whilst Guillermo Ochoa and Grigoris Kastanos are missing through injury.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Costil; Pierozzi, Manolas, Pirola, Bradaric; Coulibaly, Martegani, Gomis; Tchaouna, Ikwuemesi, Candreva

UNAVAILABLE: Ochoa (Injured), Kastanos (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Gyomber (Injured), Fazio (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Igor Tudor is a really proactive and attacking coach so it is perhaps a little bit strange that his first three matches have consisted of just four goals. That is perhaps a sign of how stale things had become under Sarri. Salernitana may begin to play with a bit more freedom in the remainder of this campaign with relegation all but confirmed but even with that, Lazio are the overwhelming favourites and a comfortable victory is to be expected at Stadio Olimpico.

TIP: LAZIO TO WIN
