THE LOWDOWN
LAZIO
It was a difficult summer for Lazio as their manager, Maurizio Sarri, complained quite a lot about their transfer business and the capital city club also sold Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal. They have also started really slowly in Serie A with two victories in their opening seven matches of this season.
They did manage their third victory in all competitions in midweek as Pedro scored 96th minute winner at Celtic Park away to Celtic in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League. Their poor league form continued last weekend, though, as they were comfortably defeated by two goals to nil away to AC Milan at San Siro.
ATALANTA
The arrivals of Charles De Ketelaere, El Bilal Toure and Gianluca Scamacca after the sale of Rasmus Hojlund sparked what looked set to be another interesting rejuvenation of Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta project. Into his third or fourth era of squad with the Bergamasci, Atalanta are aiming to break back into the top four and the UEFA Champions League.
The visitors come into this on the back of a 2-1 win away to Sporting CP in their most recent outing, during the week, in the group stages of the UEFA Europa League. Their start to the season has been steady, if a little dull, with a goalless draw at home to Juventus the very epitome of that. They have suffered just one defeat in seven matches since they lost their second game of the season.

ATALANTA
Gasperini has been able to welcome back into the squad the aforementioned Gianluca Scamacca but El Bilal Toure remains unavailable for the visitors due to injury.
PREDICTED XI (3-4-1-2): Musso; Scalvini, Djimsiti, Kolasinac; Zappacosta, de Roon, Ederson, Ruggeri; Koopmeiners; De Ketelaere, Lookman
UNAVAILABLE: Toure (Injured)

THE PREDICTION
Despite collecting four points from their opening two matches in the UEFA Champions League this season, Lazio’s European performances have been consistent with their poor form in the league as they languish down in the bottom-half of the table. Atalanta haven’t been as fluent as they would have wanted to be so far this season but they are difficult to beat and, given it is at the Olimpico, a double chance bet in favour of the away team looks the way to go for this one.
TIP: DOUBLE CHANCE – ATALANTA TO WIN OR DRAW
