It has been a generally magnificent campaign for Internazionale but it appears their season will only finish with two trophies, having won the Supercoppa Italiana in January and they will be crowned Italian champions at some stage in the next month or so as the Nerazzurri begin the weekend with a 16-point lead at the top-of-the-table.
They will not be going to win the UEFA Champions League, though, as they gave up a 2-0 aggregate lead in the Round of 16 in midweek to lose on penalties in the Spanish capital at the Metropolitano against Atletico Madrid after Memphis Depay scored an 87th minute equaliser for Los Rojiblancos on Wednesday evening.
NAPOLI
Napoli have improved since current Slovakia boss and former assistant to Maurizio Sarri, Francesco Calzona, became their third manager of the campaign last month after the sackings of Rudi Garcia and Walter Mazzarri but the Neapolitans come into this one on the back of a couple of underwhelming results.
Last weekend, the defending Italian champions were held to a 1-1 draw by Torino at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona as they continue to struggle for European qualification in Serie A. They were then comfortably defeated by three goals to one in Catalonia against Barcelona, losing 4-2 on aggregate in their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie.

This is perhaps not necessarily as exciting or as intriguing as it should have been with the champions-elect of Italy taking on the defending champions. Inter have run away at the top as they chase a 20th Scudetto and a second star above the badge, whilst Napoli have endured a bit of a horrible campaign. They both exited the UEFA Champions League in midweek but Inter should bounce back and continue on their path to winning the league title.
