THE LOWDOWN

FROSINONE

Following promotion last season, Frosinone immediately took the decision to replace their manager Fabio Grosso, who went on to be sacked by Olympique Lyonnais earlier this season, with former Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco. Di Francesco has implemented his typically attacking and entertaining style of football with the Romans.

Their 26 matches so far this season in Serie A have consisted of a combined total of 89 goals with 34 scored and 55 conceded. Frosinone come into this one on the back of a 3-2 defeat to Juventus in Turin at the J Stadium, last weekend, with Daniele Rugani scored a 95th minute winner to come from behind and defeat Frosinone.

LECCE

Last summer, after finishing in mid-table following promotion in 2022, Lecce lost their manager Marco Baroni and had to have him replaced by former Benevento coach, Roberto D’Aversa. The visitors were therefore expected to struggle this season but they again sit in mid-table and a few points clear of the bottom three.

Lecce come into this one on the back of being thrashed by champions-elect Inter last weekend with Lautaro Martinez scoring a brace as well as goals from Davide Frattesi and Stefan de Vrij to complete a 4-0 victory. They have managed just one win in their last ten matches in Serie A as they get dragged down into the relegation battle.

THE TEAM NEWS

FROSINONE

Frosinone are without several key men for this weekend as Kevin Bonifazi, Riccardo Marchizza and Sergio Kalaj are unavailable with Anthony Oyono and Mateus Lusuardi both doubtful.

LECCE

Lecce will be without one player definitely this weekend with Federico Brancolini unavailable, whilst Kastriot Dermaku is a doubt for the trip to the capital city.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Falcone; Gendrey, Baschirotto, Toube, Gallo; Blin, Ramadani; Almqvist, Rafia, Sansone; Piccoli

UNAVAILABLE: Brancolini (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

As has been mentioned, there has been an average of over three goals per game in Frosinone matches so far this season but they are coming under a bit of pressure as they drift to the bottom three. Lecce are in similarly poor and ineffective form at the moment but also intend to get on the front foot with their style. As a result, an entertaining encounter for the neutral could be in store on Sunday afternoon.

TIP: OVER 2.5 GOALS
