THE PREDICTION
Since Iran last played they have replaced Dragan Skocic with Carlos Queiroz as they look to frustrate teams, once again, at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Iran were very dogged and determined in the group stages in 2018, losing to Spain by a goal, holding Portugal to a draw and defeating Morocco. They now face a Uruguay side that have been impressive since the turn of the year and the appointment of former Inter Miami boss Diego Alonso. Despite their improvement, this is unlikely to be a thriller and a low-scoring encounter is expected.
