THE LOWDOWN
TOULOUSE
Toulouse won the Coupe de France last season and qualified for the UEFA Europa League but it has to be said that their extra matches in Europe, balanced against domestic commitments, came far too soon and ahead of schedule for a team and squad that only gained promotion back to the top-flight in 2022 and they have struggled for much of the campaign.
However, they recently enjoyed three successive Ligue 1 victories helping them climb towards the middle-of-the-table but they now come into this one on the back of a 1-0 defeat away to Le Havre in their most recent outing, last weekend with left-back Christopher Operi scoring a 60th minute winner in that clash at Stade de Oceane.
LYON
Olympique Lyonnais have been in very impressive form since the appointment of Pierre Sage, who was their third manager of the campaign after both Laurent Blanc and Fabio Grossi, in early December. They have lifted themselves away from the bottom three and the relegation places and will aim to kick on into the top-half of the table in the remainder of this campaign.
Lyon come into this one on the back of another impressive victory as they defeated Lorient by two goals to nil away from home last weekend with second-half goals from Nicolas Tagliafico and Mama Balde. That means they have won 12 and lost three of their last 15 matches across all competitions.

LYON
Lyon have a few injury concerns for this weekend’s trip to Toulouse as January signings Orel Mangala and Ernest Nuamah are unavailable, as well as key man Alexandre Lacazette.
PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Lopes; Mata, O’Brien, Caleta-Car, Tagliafico; Caqueret, Matic, Tolisso; Fofana, Balde, Benrahma

QUESTIONABLE:
THE PREDICTION
A few months ago, this one would have appeared to have been a bit of a six pointer down at the bottom end of Ligue 1 but it is now a fixture between two sides tucked in mid-table with aspirations of kicking on. Despite the similarities in terms of respective improvement, there is still actually a key difference and gulf between the two with Lyon coming into this one as the firm favourites at the Stadium de Toulouse.
TIP: LYON TO WIN
