During the November international break, Stade Rennais made a managerial change that has seemingly been quite crucial in completely turning Rennes’ form and season around with Bruno Genesio being replaced by the returning Julian Stephan and the hosts have propelled themselves into top six contention.
The home team come into this one on the back of a dip in form, though, as they shared a 2-2 draw with Lille in their most recent outing, last weekend as they drift away from those top six places. They have won just three of their last seven matches across all competitions as they begin to stumble heading into the spring.

Last month, Olympique de Marseille took the decision to replace Gennaro Gattuso, who had been appointed earlier this season to replace Marcelino, and appoint former Ivory Coast boss, Jean-Louis Gasset. Since then they have been magnificent, even with their 3-1 defeat to Villarreal in midweek as they completed a 5-3 aggregate victory in the Round of 16 of their UEFA Europa League tie.
Prior to that eventually meaningless loss at El Madrigal, Marseille had won their opening five matches under Gasset, who left Ivory Coast after the group stages of the Africa Cup of Nations with Les Elephants eventually going on to win the tournament. In those five games, they have enjoyed an aggregate score of 18-3.
