After a fairly heavy summer of spending and becoming quite a popular name on social media, Will Still went into this season with expectations heavy on his shoulders but Stade de Reims have underwhelmed in the middle-of-the-table and with him being fairly outspoken about being open to a Championship job, he is under pressure from the club’s hierarchy.
The hosts come into this one on the back of a fairly valiant display at the Parc des Princes against league leaders and defending champions Paris Saint-Germain, last weekend. Marshall Munetsi gave Reims a seventh minute lead in that game before Yunis Abdelhamid scored an own goal to make things all-square and Goncalo Ramos soon put PSG ahead before Oumar Diakite equalised before half-time.
METZ
Following promotion last season, Metz had enjoyed an impressive start to the campaign and they will be pleased to be heading into the final couple of months of the campaign still in contention to avoid the drop under the management of Laszlo Boloni, who had appeared destined for the sack until quite recently.
The visitors most recently ended a long losing streak with back-to-back victories and they begin the weekend sitting a couple of points off safety. They most recently defeated fellow strugglers and rock-bottom Clermont by a goal to nil last weekend with a 33rd minute penalty scored by Georgian international striker, Georges Mikautadze.

This one has the potential to be a turning point for Reims and their future. As we head into the final international break of the campaign, many clubs may pounce upon the opportunity to replace their manager. If Reims were to slip up at home to Metz, it would not be a major shock to see Will Still forced out. They are, though, putting in some reasonable performances of late and, despite Metz’ recent rally, Reims should come out on top in this one, especially with their home advantage.
