THE LOWDOWN

NANTES

Nantes are in real trouble at the wrong end of the table and currently find themselves inside the bottom four. The pressure continues to mount despite claiming a point from their clash with Toulouse last time out but it is now 12 league games without a victory.

In a repeat of the Coupe de France final, in which Nantes were humiliated in a 5-1 thrashing by Toulouse, they will have been somewhat content to have come away from their recent trip with a goalless draw.

MONTPELLIER

Montpellier are safe in the middle of the table but will want to end their campaign on a high and having failed to win either of their last two, this trip to Nantes represents a good chance for them to get back to winning ways.

They played out a draw with Lorient last time out thanks to a last-gasp leveller from Faitout Maouassa with his goal four minutes into stoppage time securing a point having trailed to a goal midway through the second half from the away side.

THE PREDICTION

Nantes only have themselves to blame if they go down owing to their dreadful run of form having failed to win any of their last 12 Ligue 1 matches. They need to find a way to pick up some points between now and the end of the season to retain their top-flight status but Montpellier possess a respectable record on the road and they are fancied to extend Nantes’ winless run.

TIP: MONTPELLIER DRAW NO BET
