THE LOWDOWN

LILLE

Lille have a battle on their hands to remain in the top five of Ligue 1 with a couple of teams still in with a chance of catching them and this is a tricky contest for them. They have struggled of late with just one win in their last four matches and having failed to score in their last two, the pressure will be on.

Having lost out to Reims in their prior contest, Lille backed that up with a solid point on the road as they played out a goalless draw with Monaco but they need to find a way to improve on their recent record to secure a European spot.

MARSEILLE

Marseille are giving themselves every chance of securing a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League having won four of their last five and losing just one of their last 10.

They were 3-1 victors over Angers last time out as they bounced back from their loss to Lens and they did so by fighting back from a goal down. Alexis Sanchez, Dimitri Payet and Jordan Veretout cancelled out Angers’ opener as they claimed a comfortable success to cement third spot.

THE PREDICTION

This should be a fascinating contest between Lille and Marseille, two of the top five in Ligue 1. The hosts are battling to secure a European place while Marseille have their sights set on a top two finish which would result in Champions League football. The visitors have been consistent for a long period with just one loss in their last 10 and they are fancied to claim at least a point from this trip.

TIP: MARSEILLE DRAW NO BET
