THE LOWDOWN

WEST HAM

  • A positive performance is expected here from West Ham in response to losing 2-1 away at Man City last time out, a second straight defeat for the Hammers in this season’s Premier League.
  • Left-back Aaron Cresswell suffered a nasty collision with the post against Man City whilst clearing the ball, leading him to be substitution off the pitch and the after-effects render him a doubt for this match.

BRIGHTON

  • It has now been eight matches since Brighton last won in the Premier League and their 0-0 draw against Leeds Utd last Saturday in which they failed to show the sufficient quality required in front of goal saw them booed at full-time by the Albion fans, a reaction which unimpressed head coach Graham Potter significantly.
  • Stephen Alzate and Danny Welbeck remain absent for the Seagulls, but other than those two Potter should have a full squad to choose from for their trip to the London Stadium.

THE PREDICTION

Brighton do currently sit ninth-place in the Premier League heading into this latest round of fixtures, although it feels like all is not quite rosy in the garden for them at present. Their lack of potency up top has cost them points in recent weeks, with confidence clearly low within their frontline and Graham Potter is yet to come across a winning formula to get them back on track. West Ham have not been at their best in recent league games, with their heavy fixture schedule perhaps finally starting to take its toll. However, there is no denying the obvious quality within this Hammers’ team that should see them more than capable of responding in the right manner and at home against a team low on both form and morale, David Moyes’ side are expected to get back to winning ways.

Tip: WEST HAM TO WIN
