THE LOWDOWN

TOTTENHAM

  • Tottenham boss Antonio Conte will have enjoyed the two-week international break that has allowed him to fully integrate himself within the club and will be hoping to secure his first Premier League victory here at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Leeds Utd.
  • Although Oliver Skipp started in central midfield in Spurs’ most recent Premier League fixture away at Everton, he misses out here due to suspension and Conte has been also been hit with the news that defender Cristian Romero suffered a hamstring injury playing for Argentina that will see him miss out as well, whilst Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg is also doubtful.

LEEDS UTD

  • Leeds Utd earned themselves a hard-fought 1-1 draw at home to Leicester in their most recent Premier League fixture, backing up their 2-1 victory away at Norwich previous to that and they’ll be hoping to continue their recent upturn in fortunes.
  • Striker Patrick Bamford and defenders Robin Koch and Luke Ayling are not available but better news left-back Junior Firpo has a chance of being passed fit to at least play a part from the bench as does Jamie Shackleton and Joe Gelhardt.

THE PREDICTION

After a draw last time out against an Everton side who have not covered themselves in glory across this season so far, the pressure is on Tottenham to put in a strong performance against a side who they put to the sword on this ground last season. Striker Harry Kane should provide the perfect outlet and will no doubt be hungry for goals after his hat-trick for England over the international break, whilst Heung-Min Son will no doubt prove a nightmare for the Leeds defence to handle. As the players gain more familiar with the system that Conte prefers to use, positive results should follow, so back Spurs with home advantage in their favour to triumph in this one.

Tip: TOTTENHAM TO WIN
