A resounding 4-1 victory over hapless Chelsea on Thursday ensured that Man Utd have qualified for next season's Champions League campaign, and they will now look to secure third place ahead of Newcastle with another positive result against Fulham.
Man Utd needed only a point from their last their two games to ensure that rivals Liverpool didn't sneak into one of the Champions League spots, but that was put beyond all doubt with a dominant victory against Chelsea. Casemiro began the rout with a header after just six minutes, before Anthony Martial capped off a fine move to double the advantage just before the break. A Bruno Fernandes penalty and a Marcus Rashford goal put the game beyond all doubt, while Joao Felix's late strike was little more than a consolation.
FULHAM
Teams destined to finish in mid-table often lose their intensity in the latter weeks of the season, but that accusation can not be levelled at Fulham, who have been involved in some entertaining games of late, and have picked up seven points from the last nine available to secure an excellent tenth position for the promoted club.
Talismanic striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has wasted no time at all in getting back up to speed since his return from an eight-game ban for pushing referee Chris Kavanagh. After scoring off the bench upon his return against Southampton a week prior. the Serb helped himself to a brace against Crystal Palace last Saturday in a game that ultimately ended all square.

The victory against Chelsea came at a cost with both Luke Shaw and Antony going off injured, with the latter in particular looking like a potentially serious injury. In Shaw's case, even if he does recover, Erik Ten Hag will take no chances with the England international with the FA Cup final on the horizon. Tyrell Malacia is a ready-made replacement at left-back.
With a week until the final, and with third place not yet secured, Ten Hag is likely to field a fairly strong outfit to close out the league season, but early substitutions should the game be won would not be a surprise.

Dan James is in the running for a return after a return to training, but Tim Ream and Andreas Pereira will play no part in this fixture.

THE PREDICTION
The hard work is done now for Man Utd but Erik ten Hag will be in no mood to allow Newcastle to sneak ahead of them for third place in the table. He will also want his side to maintain rhythm and confidence ahead of next week's FA Cup final against bitter rivals Man City, so there should still be a degree of intensity in this fixture. Fulham have scored nine goals in their last three games though, and will not lie down so easily. Therefore, both teams to score looks like a distinct possibility in this one.
