THE LOWDOWN

LEICESTER

  • Having been knocked out of the Europa League this past Thursday, Leicester must now turn their attention back to Premier League action, but are severely depleted with multiple cases of both Covid-19 and general illness within their camp.
  • The likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Ademola Lookman, Ayoze Perez and Jannik Vestergaard have been struck down, so are likely to miss out here, whilst defenders Wes Fofana, James Justin and Ricardo Pereira are all not ready to return yet.

NEWCASTLE

  • Newcastle are coming off the back of their long-awaited first Premier League victory of the season, but Eddie Howe’s men cannot rest on their laurels and must be prepared to back that up with another positive result here.
  • Ryan Fraser should be fine following a hamstring injury but this game also comes too soon for versatile defender Paul Dummett, although Ciaran Clark is available following his one-match suspension.

THE PREDICTION

Newcastle’s most recent away match saw them deploy a very defensive strategy, which did not pay off away at Arsenal and it would be no surprise if the Magpies look to adopt a more attacking playstyle away to a Leicester side who have failed to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League since the opening weekend of the season. This should lead to an entertaining contest, with the Foxes a hugely dangerous force going forward, making up for their defensive frailties. Matches between these two teams are usually high scoring affairs and backing over 2.5 goals to be scored for what would be the fifth consecutive meeting between Leicester and Newcastle has to be favoured here.

Tip: OVER 2.5 GOALS
