THE LOWDOWN
BRENTFORD
Brentford let a lead slip against Crystal Palace last weekend and had to settle for a draw, but they nevertheless remain unbeaten in the Premier League this season and they also managed to progress in the League Cup midweek when they defeated Newport County on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
In the clash with Palace, the Bees made a positive start and deservedly went ahead when Kevin Schade scored an excellent goal to notch his first for the club, and they held out until Joachim Andersen salvaged a point for Palace.
BOURNEMOUTH
Bournemouth are still searching for their first win of the campaign with their latest Premier League outing being the 0-2 defeat to Tottenham last week but they did at least advance in the League Cup courtesy of a dramatic 2-3 victory at Swansea on Tuesday.
The Cherries were largely second best against Spurs and struggled to contain the impressive James Maddison. Indeed, it was the former Leicester man that broke the deadlock after 17 minutes, and despite going close, Bournemouth were unable to get back on level terms before the break. Dejan Kulusevski then doubled the visitors' lead just after the hour mark, and they were then able to see out the contest.
THE TEAM NEWS
BRENTFORD
Mikkel Damsgaard picked up an injury while playing for the U21 side and won't feature until after the international break, while Josh Dasilva, Shandon Baptiste and Ivan Toney remain absent.
Ben Mee made his return in the League Cup on Tuesday and comes into contention for a centre-back spot.
PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Flekken; Hickey, Collins, Pinnock, Henry; Jensen, Norgaard, Janelt; Mbeumo, Wissa, Schade
UNAVAILABLE: Dasilva (Injured), Damsgaard (Injured), Baptiste (Injured), Toney (Suspended)
QUESTIONABLE: Strakosha (Injured)
BOURNEMOUTH
Bournemouth still have five players definitely missing through injury for this one, but Adam Smith and Marcus Tavernier could make the squad after both made partial returns to training this week.
David Brooks and Hamed Traore were both on the scoresheet in the midweek League Cup triumph and are pushing for inclusion.
PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Neto; Aarons, Zabarnyi, Senesi, Kerkez; Christie, Rothwell; Semenyo, Billing, Kluivert; Solanke
UNAVAILABLE: Adams (Injured), Fredericks (Injured), Marcondes (Injured), Scott (Injured), Ouattara (Injured)
QUESTIONABLE: Smith (Injured), Tavernier (Injured)
THE PREDICTION
Unbeaten Brentford face winless Bournemouth here with the odds very much in the hosts' favour. Bournemouth are still beset with injuries which certainly isn't helping matters and we may not see the best of them until after the international break. Brentford are a well-oiled machine under Thomas Frank and he is getting the best out of his forward players in the absence of the suspended Ivan Toney. Expect the confident Bees to have too much for the visitors here.
TIP: BRENTFORD TO WIN
