THE LOWDOWN

ARSENAL

  • Arsenal’s struggles against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool went on last weekend, with the Gunners on the receiving end of another beating from the Reds, losing 4-0 away from home and ending their run of eight Premier League games undefeated.
  • Mikel Arteta has no new injury problems to worry about at this stage, with midfielder Granit Xhaka and defender Sead Kolasinac the only absentees.

NEWCASTLE

  • Whilst new boss Eddie Howe was not on the touchline after testing positive for Covid-19, his side showed plenty of the attacking cutting edge he would have demanded from his players against Brentford, but it wasn’t enough to secure their first league win of the season as Newcastle drew 3-3 with the Bees.
  • Paul Dummett remains sidelined while Dwight Gayle is the only other concern as the striker picked up a hamstring injury in training and he will be assessed ahead of kick-off.

THE TEAM NEWS

NEWCASTLE

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Darlow; J. Murphy, Lascelles, Clark, Ritchie; Willock, S. Longstaff, Shelvey; Joelinton, Wilson, Saint-Maximin

UNAVAILABLE: Dummett (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Gayle (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

As the years have gone by Arsenal have continued to prove themselves as Newcastle’s biggest ever Premier League bogey team, having beaten the Magpies in 16 of their last 17 league fixtures. The Gunners will be determined to bounce back from their loss at Anfield in front of their own fans, whilst Newcastle fans have reason to be optimistic again following their sides’ encouraging showing from an attacking perspective against Brentford. However, when taking into account the fragility of Newcastle’s defence, Arsenal have the capabilities to cutting through them on the large pitch at Emirates Stadium and with stronger players across the pitch, the Gunners should get back to winning ways here, although backing them via the draw no bet market for extra insurance is a sensible move.

Tip: ARSENAL DRAW NO BET
