THE PREDICTION

Liverpool’s recent struggles took their biggest turn for the worse yet last Thursday night, when failure to score for the fourth straight Premier League game saw them fall to a shock 0-1 defeat at home to Burnley. The loss was the first in a record 68 matches for the Reds at Anfield and left Jurgen Klopp and his side disconsolate at the full-time whistle. Question marks remain as to what Liverpool can do to regain the attacking form that helped them secure the Premier League title last season and a solution must be found quickly, with a trip to Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham on the horizon here. Spurs will no doubt set up with bodies behind the ball as other clubs have done successfully vs Liverpool in recent weeks, with a view to hitting them on the break through attacking outlets such as Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son. This may lead to a turgid affair, such has been the norm for recent Premier League games involving Liverpool and like those encounters, under 2.5 goals scored is expected here, regardless of which side comes out on top.
