THE PREDICTION

Lightning struck twice in the worst possible way for Southampton in midweek as for the second season running, they were hit for nine in a single fixture. The Saints were reduced to nine men in their 9-0 slaughtering at the hands of Man Utd at Old Trafford and with his side ravaged by injuries, Ralph Hasenhuttl has an incredibly tough job on his hands to pick his players back up for their trip to Newcastle. The Magpies failed to back up their 0-2 win away to Everton last weekend against Crystal Palace this past Tuesday, as Steve Bruce’s side fell to a 1-2 loss despite taking the lead vs the Eagles. However, against a Southampton team off the back of that United thrashing who have now lost their last four Premier League games, Newcastle with home advantage here may be able to take advantage and secure what would be a vital win.
