THE PREDICTION

Both these sides head into this clash off the back of defeats in midweek. Aston Villa were beaten 1-3 at home by West Ham, whilst Arsenal were reduced to nine men in their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Wolves despite taking the lead. The reverse fixture between these two sides saw Dean Smith’s come out on top after shocking Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in a 0-3 triumph. Arsenal are a different side to the one who fell to Villa back then having picked up in form hugely since, however the loss of first choice goalkeeper Bernd Leno to suspension is a huge blow. Add that to second choice stopper Mat Ryan being a huge doubt due to injury and it puts Arsenal at a huge disadvantage heading into this match. Aston Villa boast a fierce attack, with the creative outlets in Jack Grealish and Ross Barkley feeding the in-form Ollie Watkins in attack. When taking into account Arsenal’s goalkeeping woes and defensive absentees, the hosts draw no bet has to be favoured here.
