THE LOWDOWN

RWDM

Following promotion last season, Racing White Daring Molenbeek have enjoyed a respectable start to this season as they begin the weekend sitting just above the bottom four and the relegation round playoff places. They have collected just 17 points from their opening 15 matches of this season.

The hosts come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat away to title challenging Anderlecht in their most recent outing, last weekend, in Brussels. RWDM have managed just one victory in their last nine league games, in a run that stretches back a couple of months to just after the September international break.

SPORTING CHARLEROI

Coached by their former boss Felice Mazzu, who left for spells in Brussels with both Royale Union Saint-Gilloise and then Anderlecht, Sporting Charleroi begin the 16th match day of the 2023/24 Jupiler Pro League season sitting just outside of the bottom four and the end of season relegation playoff places.

They come into this one on the back of an entertaining but much-needed 3-2 defeat of fellow strugglers, Westerlo, last weekend. That came with a 96th minute and those three points came after a run of three successive losses in the league for Charleroi prior to the recent November international break.

THE TEAM NEWS

RWDM

Racing White Daring Molenbeek are missing some key players for this weekend with Ilay Camara unavailable for the visit of Charleroi due to suspension.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-2-1): Defourny; Heris, Klaus, Sissako; Segovia, Dwomoh, Abe, Abner; Mercier, Reine-Adelaide; Gueye

UNAVAILABLE: Camara (Suspended), Hazard (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Le Joncour (Injured), de Sart (Injured)

SPORTING CHARLEROI

Sporting Charleroi have a few doubts for this weekend but they will have be able to name an unchanged eleven for the trip to RWDM.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-2-1): Koffi; Bager, Andreou, Knezevic; Rogelj, Ilaimaharitra, Zorgane, Dragsnes; Guiagon, Bernier; Benbouali

UNAVAILABLE:

QUESTIONABLE: Mbenza (Injured), Tshiend (Injured), Van Cleemput (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

These two sides are the two teams that sit just above the bottom four and there is a very good chance that one of, if not both, could fall into that bottom four this weekend, dependant on the results. As mentioned, Charleroi’s recent form has been quite entertaining with that 3-2 victory over Westerlo and a fairly entertaining encounter is to be expected for this one as they both attempt to take advantage of their opposition and see it as a good opportunity to take a much-needed three points.
