THE LOWDOWN

RWDM

Racing White Daring Molenbeek are one of four teams under the ownership model of John Textor, alongside Botafogo, Crystal Palace and Olympique Lyonnais. RWDM gained promotion to the Belgian top-flight last season before appointing former Lyon assistant and Botafogo caretaker manager Claudio Cacapa as their new head coach.

Following that promotion they would have expected to badly struggle this season but it has actually been an impressive start to the campaign. They were beaten 4-0 at home by Genk on the opening day of the season but they have since suffered just two defeats in their next seven matches, sitting firmly in the middle-of-the-table.

GENT

Having kept hold of both Hugo Cuypers and Gift Orban over the summer transfer window, Gent will hope they can challenge towards the very top-of-the-table in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League this season. Hein Vanhaezebrouck’s side missed out on the top four last year on the final day of the regular season but will be seeking an improvement.

That improvement has been forthcoming at the start of the season with the visitors beginning this match day sitting at the top. They are unbeaten in their opening eight matches of the campaign with five victories and three draws. Combined with just one loss in seven European games this season and it has been a very impressive start across all competitions.

THE TEAM NEWS

RWDM

Claudio Cacapa has no fresh injury or suspension concerns for this weekend but they will remain without Kylian Hazard who is out with an ACL injury.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-1-2): Defourny; Klaus, Segovia, Le Joncour; Mansoni, Dwomoh, Abe, Abner; Mercier; Biron, Gueye

UNAVAILABLE: Hazard (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE:

GENT

Hein Vanhaezebrouck has a couple of doubts for this weekend, with the likes of Laurent Depoitre, but they have a generally strong squad for this weekend.

PREDICTED XI (5-4-1): Nardi; Samoise, Kandouss, Watanabe, Torunarigha, Brown; Hjulsager, De Sart, Kums, Fofana; Cuypers

UNAVAILABLE:

QUESTIONABLE: Fortuna (Injured), Depoitre (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Racing White Daring Molenbeek have, as mentioned, overperformed their general pre-season expectations so far by ensconcing themselves in the middle-of-the-table. Despite that relatively impressive start, this is a very tough test against a Gent side that are able to welcome back the excellent Gift Orban to their side. RWDM will believe they can get at Gent but the visitors should still come out on top in what could be an entertaining encounter for the neutral.

TIP: GENT TO WIN & OVER 2.5 GOALS
