England vs West Indies prediction
Despite losing both openers for nought and the big-hitting Jos Buttler, also for a duck, England still managed to flex their muscles and find a way to chase down 309 runs to beat West Indies for a second game running. The player to flex those muscles was Joe Root, who struck a quite spectacular unbeaten 166 from 139 balls batting at number three. There was enough support down the order to allow Root to steer the hosts home with three wickets and seven balls remaining.
West Indies were much better than what we saw at Edgbaston, but lacked their killer instinct and continue to leak runs, it’s now 712 runs across two innings of 50-over cricket. Such numbers cannot be ignored and backing a series sweep for England at the Kia Oval is the sensible move to make.
