England simply destroyed West Indies on Thursday, losing the toss, batting first and racking up a mammoth 400 runs for the loss of eight wickets. The entire top seven of England passed 30 runs with Ben Duckett, Joe Root, Harry Brook and Jacob Bethell all reaching half-centuries, Bethell’s knock of 82 off of 53 balls a particular highlight.

West Indies had no answer in reply as they were bowled out for just 162 to loss by 238 runs. The bowling attack had no answer to a very strong England batting unit and the pitch is likely to be just as batter-friendly in Cardiff. The batters of West Indies simply cannot compare to what England have at their disposal and it’s hard not to see another comprehensive win here for Brook’s men.
