As was the case last year, Delhi Capitals have begun the new campaign winning two on the bounce. Both of their victories so far have been successful run chases, each by six wickets against Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians respectively. The Delhi bowlers deserve credit for how effectively they’ve shut down opposition batters, both in terms of wickets and most recently, disciplined tight bowling.

Gujarat Titans meanwhile, have lost two from two. Their bowling has proven more expensive than Delhi’s whilst a lack of control cost them against Rajasthan Royals, with 13 wides crucial to what was a narrow six-run defeat. Delhi are currently playing more lockdown cricket and whilst these two teams are well-matched from a batting perspective, the Capitals bowling better than their opponents of late gives them the edge.
