THE PREDICTION

Two-time world champion Gary Anderson remains in the hunt for a third Ally Pally title after he held off a Rob Cross fightback in the fourth round and, at least according to him, he is playing without any pressure. He faces a man who has reached this stage two times before with Luke Humphries’ love affair with the tournament continuing after his superb 4-3 victory over Chris Dobey. This is a difficult match to call in the sense that Anderson has not really been at his best over the last fortnight and it feels as if his luck may run out at some point, but whether that comes in this round remains to be seen. Humphries will need to play at the top of his game to prevail and looks in the mood to do just that so tipping this match to go over 7.5 sets looks to be a sensible play.
