Cuba vs Puerto Rico prediction

The stakes are very high heading into this Pool A showdown with both Cuba and Puerto Rico looking to secure their place in the quarter-finals and preferably as pool winners. Cuba are one of the most underrated teams across the entire tournament, boasting no superstars but an excellent all-round squad who do the basics brilliantly well. Puerto Rico were expected to be in this position but were pushed to the limit in their most recent fixture and needed a home run to left field by infielder Darell Hernaiz in the tenth inning to walk off Panama.

To win in that fashion is likely to have done wonders for the confidence of the Pool A hosts and despite a day off to take stock, momentum will be high among their roster. But Cuba have outscored Puerto Rico 10-9 when it comes to runs after two matches each. Three of the four games played so far involving one of these two nations has seen less than eight runs scored, something which is well worth backing in this one, regardless of the final outcome at Hiram Bithorn Stadium.

Cuba vs Puerto Rico tip: Under 7.5 total runs
