THE TEAM NEWS

DELHI BULLS

  • Delhi Bulls claimed a draw against Bangla Tigers on Monday as they could only match their total of 108 in a see-saw run chase as Eoin Morgan ensured that they at least grabbed a point in the enthralling match.
  • The Bulls were strengthened by the arrival of Mohammad Nabi and Sherfane Rutherford who completed their national team duties with their respective teams in the Afghanistan/West Indies series, and the duo have added yet more quality to the team.
  • Adil Rashid’s struggles in this tournament continue as he conceded 18 off his one over on Monday and it would be no surprise if he was rested for a game and Paul Stirling returning to the side with his batting and part-time bowling.

NORTHERN WARRIORS

  • After their ferocious start to the 2019 T10 League campaign when they hammered Maratha Arabians, the Warriors have lost their last two matches at the hands of the Qalandars and Team Abu Dhabi so they will be desperate to bounce back here.
  • It has unusually been their batting that has let them down in those games as they could only muster 46 all out against the Qalandars, while their total of 92/1 against Team Abu Dhabi seemed remarkably conservative judging by their explosive standards.
  • They should be able to count on West Indian duo Nicholas Pooran and Lendl Simmons who have arrived from the Windies tour of India against Afghanistan, and those two add some serious firepower to the batting order which will give them a major boost.

THE PREDICTION

The arrival of West Indian or Afghan players following their series has boosted various teams in the tournament in recent days, and that is likely to be the same for the Northern Warriors. Pooran and Simmons add major firepower to their batting line-up as that has unusually been their weakness in the last couple of matches. With the Bulls’ bowling unit not quite at their best, the Warriors can take advantage of that and get back to winning ways here.
