THE TEAM NEWS

BANGLA TIGERS

  • Bangla Tigers are coming off a draw on Monday against Delhi Bulls as after posting what seemed to be a below par total of 108/7 on a good batting track, they managed to claw the game back from the Bulls being 62/1 from 4.4 overs to salvage a point.
  • Unlike many of the other teams, the Tigers do not have any West Indian players to come into the squad so they will have the same set of players at their disposal for this clash with Team Abu Dhabi.
  • Skipper Thisara Perera will be hoping for more from his bowlers however coming into this game against a strong batting line-up, as none of them have taken more than two wickets so far across their three matches.

TEAM ABU DHABI

  • Team Abu Dhabi suffered their first defeat of the 2019 T10 League on Monday as they came up against an inspired Chris Lynn who walloped an unbeaten 91 to help Maratha Arabians to 138/2 from their 10 overs and that proved 24 runs too many for them in the run chase.
  • Ben Laughlin was the key man for them with the ball taking 1/15 from his two overs but the remaining eight overs were smashed for 123 with the usually reliable and economical Harry Gurney even proving expensive, so they will look to improve on that here.
  • They were without star all-rounder Corey Anderson for that match with a strain and his presence was sorely missed but there is every chance he will return here while West Indian leg-spinner Hayden Walsh Jr could also come in for his first game of the tournament after arriving from national team duty.

THE PREDICTION

Team Abu Dhabi looked like one of the more impressive teams in the opening couple of rounds but they were handed a wake-up call with a heavy loss on Monday to Maratha Arabians. They will look to get back on track here against Bangla Tigers who are unbeaten in their last two games and have some form themselves. The lack of frontline bowlers for the Tigers may cost them as they are relying on all-rounder David Wiese to open and close the innings, and that should work in Team Abu Dhabi’s favour here.
